The quantity on the inventory is not sufficient to cover the net change in inventory. Do you still want to record the quantity?

Hi,

Currently one of my item in my inventory reflected the quantity of 2,400. But when i try to deduct the inventory using "negative adjustment" it show the error "The quantity on the inventory is not sufficient to cover the net change in inventory. Do you still want to record the quantity?". But the item quantity reflected is the same as the amount i wanted to deduct. Even i try to deduct 10 also unable to do so. Same error.

I tried to adjust using "postive adjustment" and then deduct again but can only deduct the "postive adjustment" i given. Hope that someone can advice how can i resolve my issue.

Thanks,

Bran

    Hi Ishan,

The negative adjustment posting date is after the item got inventoried. The problem is bin code was not assigned based on the current bin code we have. That why the inventory

is reflected in the system but is not in the bin location. Any idea how can i assign the bin code to the specific item as this item was post since 2013?

    Hi..

Please check the posting date for the negative adjustment that you are trying to post.

The posting date may be earlier then the item got inventoried. Check the posting date for the item got inventoried from item ledger entries.

    Hi Mohana,

The item i mention is a standard customization which is the same as other item.

So far other items do not have this issue except one item. I suspect the item receiving was not done correct that why caused the quantity issue. I unable to undo the item receiving what i need now is to reset this item to 0 quantity. Do you know any method i can use to reset the quantity?

    Do you have any customizations?

Also check whether you are using varinats?

    Hi Mohana,

I'm not using locations. Negative adjustment is for certain item where the inventory is.

I do not have any issue on other item negative adjustment except this particular item. This error is show maybe because the inventory quantity cannot be recognize. That is what i think but do not have any solution how to resolve. Do you have any advice on this?

    Thanks,

    Bran

    Are you using locations?

check whether negative adjustment is also on the same location where inventory is existing.

is there any customizations in your database ?

Is the error a standard error?
