Shop Floor Control AX 4.0

Hi.  Does anyone have any information on Shop Floor Control?  I am experimenting with the setup parameters but the information and training guides I have found so far don't give me enough information to configure this properly.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

They are available on customer and partner source.

Thanks.  I've read the training materials but they don't explain in much detail the effect of the settings you can choose.  In particular I am after more detail on the Shop Floor Control > Setup > Parameters options and the Shop Floor Control > Setup > Start - default values and Report as finished - default values options.

The detail comes from experience and learning I am afraid, a manual and training sessions can only take you so far. I presume you mean the production parameters within SFC, in these instances these are simply the defaulted parameters for the works order, these are covered in more detail in the production manuals I believe, but the best way is to alter them and then start a production order and see what is presented to you, you will quickly get the idea.

Thanks for your help - I was afraid this would be the answer.  I haven't cross-checked the Production manuals but I will do and I will also do the testing you recommend.

I'm also struggeling with SFC, maybe you can help me on the following question:

I am using job scheduling and I register my time on a job. When finishing the job, only the start & end date is filled, but the execution time is 0:00 to 0:00.

I tried to play with the parameters, but I couldn't find a proper one.

Did you find a way to solve my issue?

    THX!

    Martin

    Hi Martin

Registering the time through which mechanism? Are you logging onto a job and then completeing the job in SFC? Where are you seeing the execution time as 0:00 to 0:00?

    Hi Martin,

I had this also - no times on the Production > Works Orders > Jobs > Feeback tab until you run Calculation and Approval and Transfer.  Then I only see the Start times - the end times stay as 00:00.

Up until the point it is transferred it can all be changed so the feedback is not defined, so if that is where you are looking then the times should be updated - the end time should come from the end job, but this maybe an issue with the version of 4 you are running, I cannot be certain!

Re: Shop Floor Control AX 4.0

    Hello,

first of all thanks for replying!

I need to apologise, I'm using 2009 (demo company ceu) and I'fe overred that the main topic is on 4.0.

Let me explain my issue in more details:

    I'm creating a production --> job schedule --> start

I go to shop floor management and register myself on the first job.

when I go back to my production --> jobs --> tab "scheduling" the job's status is still "waiting" and no start time is available.

after giving feedback on SFM the job is ended and a job journal is posted (by the way, the journal has no reference to the production maybe that's the issue). The journal cannot be seen via journal --> job card, it can be only seen by journals --> all

Do you have an idea of what is going wrong?

    THX!

    Hi Martin

On the start parameters and on the works order are you creating a route journal? You should not be with your approach (from memory), just check this first. If you are creating a route journal do not, then see if the job journal is created - you should be able to see them in the journals - job option.
