Personal Views after Reassign Records

While testing user privileges, I created duplicate Personal views. That started the hunt for ways to edit or delete the Personal views. Thanks to Gretchen, I later learned to use the Advanced Find to see the saved views.

Anyway, testing gave me the freedom to see what happened if I reassigned the user's records. I reassigned the test users records to my admin user.

With the Advanced find, Saved Views I could see all the test user's personal views while looking at the admin user. They weren't visible on the ordinary menu until I selected and activated. I could also deactivate them or delete them. So if a person is reassigned and their records go to another user, that user wouldn't necessarily notice any difference in their view list.

The personal views with duplicate names don't seem to bother the duplication detection.

I thought I should post the fact that a user could get quite a number of Saved Views if other user's records are re-assigned to them often. Like if a department loses a salesperson, and the manager gets the records so she can transfer ownership based on new territories. They aren't activated when they are moved to the new user.

Better approach would be create a Team and allow the ownership or share the views with team with full permissions.

and add the users in the team based on demand.

Thanks. I hadn't been trying to move the views around - actually they were garbage and I wanted to be rid of them. What I tried to point out is that if you reassign records, the Saved Views or Personal Views travel along and aren't obvious to the target user.

(Wow, that's how short I wish I had been to start with!)
