Business Central v14 (April 2019) - End of Life - Extended Support

Hello,

We have a customer who has requested to upgrade from a legacy Nav implementation to Business Central v14 (newer versions are not preferred for the moment). The End of Life (mainstream support) for v14 is October 2023.

Can I ask for some tips how to get extended support beyond that date for two or three more years?

    Hello,

You need to speak to your account manager within Microsoft how to get the extended support plan if possible.

    Thanks.

Thank you Marco, your feedback is much appreciated. Working into this direction. Would wait for some more inputs from the community team and will close the topic at the end of the week.

The first step is to identify/clarify why they don't want to go further than 14? For example is it because of the Web client or because of C/SIDE.

If there is a wall that is preventing a client moving to 17, then I would rather have that client on 14 than on an older version. I feel this is better than them leaving the NAV world completely and moving to a competitor.

There are many NAV implementations that simply can not move to the Web Client (yet...)

Thank you, David. You are right about the constraints for moving to a version above 14. We have agreed with the client to stay in the Microsoft world and the figures are showing the v14 would be much more time and cost efficient in four years outlook which requires extended support.
