Purchase Orders are not reflected in Inventory

Hello,
I create a large number of PO's everyday. All the lines are filled out but when I go to my inventory the quantity remains even though I have added the lines to PO.
Because there are so many PO's that are not posted yet it is increasingly difficult to manage inventory because the quantity is still showing a the full amount even though they are reserved for a PO. The inventory doesn't change until the PO is posted but like I said there would be multiple PO's unposted with multiple lines in each PO so when I count my inventory I have to account for the unposted PO's.
Is there a way to view inventory only showing the actual remaining QTY taking in to account the unposted PO's that have stock allocated to them?
Thanks for your time

You mention allocating stock to a Purchase Order, so I have to assume you are talking about your Customer's PO and you have entered it as a Sales Order in Business Central.  Is this correct?

If so, if you have reserved your available inventory to a demand source, such as a Sales Line, the Quantity on Hand does not change but the Item Availability does.  Business Central is tracking how much inventory is available AFTER reservations, but it doesn't change how much is sitting on your shelf (Quantity).  The reason for this is your Inventory Value is based on product on the shelf, regardless of whether there is a reservation to an Order.

You can use the "Item Availability by Event" to see the impact of sales and purchases against your Quantity on Hand:

This will show you, by Item, what are the future changes in inventory based on what is entered in your system.

If you are doing replenishment planning (especially for all Items), I would suggest using the Planning Worksheet.  This requires setting your planning criteria and reordering policies on the Items you wish to plan for.  This is a fantastic tool to improve the management of your inventory.

Hopefully this helps get you some more information out of your system.

    Best Regards,

    Hi,

I understand that you are looking for a report that displays the current inventory status. If that's the case, you can access the 'Items by Location' report.
    Here's how to access it:

    1. Navigate to the Item Card.
    2. From the Item Menu, select 'Items by Location.'

If this information proves helpful, kindly mark the issue as resolved.

    Cheers,
    Jeffrey Bulanadi
