Hi

I'm in marketing but have a solid background in manipulating data to achieve desired results (databases, spreadsheets, dynamic websites, etc).

I have never used Dynamics AX but have put the question to accounts about updating the invoice layout and also including a promotional message that would be updated on a semi-regular basis. I've been told it requires special coding and it costs multiple $$$$$.

A quick search of 'custom invoice templates' (and variations) found Bottomline's Create!form. This looks very promising but I wanted to ask the community if there are other options out there?

btw we use Dynamics AX 2009

    Hi Michael,

    You can setup form notes in menu Accounts receivable to include a promotional message on invoices.

    About the layout: It depends on complexity, how much time it will take. If the data is already avaialbe/used on the invoice it is just a matter of lay-out. Check the Form notes first. Some lay-out requirements can be more complex for AX2009, but then I should know the exact requirements.

    A disadvantage of an external application is in most times the reproduction possibility. In AX2009 you can reprint an invoice. The reprint (preview) will be still the current AX design if you don't change it. It's a hassle in many cases and for some customers then a reason to complain again.
