Dynamics CRM 4.0 Error when Creating Custom Entities

I am attempting to add a new custom entity when deploying a customer form.

I simply enter the entity's short name and plural name and set it to Ownership=User and click save and get a message that it failed.

note: I have the system administrator role.

Could you help me?

    Did you run out of disk space in your SQL Server?

    I think I saw this once and that was the issue.

    Also, make sure that the Async Service is running on the CRM server.

    I am facing the the same issue : In CRM 4.0, Error when Creating Custom Entities

    Even  SQL Server has enough space and Async Service is running on CRM server successfully.

    Please help me out !

    Is this a CRM Online organization or CRM on premise?

    If this is CRM online can you please enable the tracing and dev. errors and send the stack of the error message.

    This is a CRm on Premise. The following error  statement  is in  trace log:

    Hi Shanmugaraja,

    Could you please check the connectivity between CRM server, client machine and SQL server using ODBC or SSMS and let me know if there is no connectivity issue?

                           it is a SQLOLEDB Provider; Connection is working fine .. I can able to edit or add my existing Entity.Problem is only creating entity .

    Hi Raja,

    Possible reasons for this issues are :

    1. An orphan view was found at org_mscrm

    2. Added OLEDBTimeout settings

    3. If you have multiple BU, then Probably it might be realted to the system settings or missing indexes

    You may try adding the OLEDB time out value follwing the KB article :support.microsoft.com/.../918609 but if that not resolving the issue, i would suggest you to open a support case with MS as it require more troubleshooing at CRM database.

    Hi Mohammed Atif,

                                   it is working fine after added the OLEDBTimeout and the ExtendedTimeout registry subkeys to increase the time-out values.
