Reset of Usage Data after deployment of an Deployable Package

Hey there,

After deployment of a Deployable Package for Dynamics 365 for Operations, all Usage Data for every User are lost. The issue is in production! This is very enjoying for my customer. Is there a fix or workaround to hold the Usage Data?

    Hi Severin,

    This was also the case in earlier versions of Microsoft Dynamics AX.

    It is possible to export personalizations to files. If you keep the files, you can re-apply them afterwards. Have a look at my blog for applying the same personalization to multiple users: kaya-consulting.com/manage-personalizations-in-dynamics-365-for-multiple-users

    Hi Severin,

    You can add a suggestion on https://ideas.dynamics.com. I don't know if and when it will make it to a release then. As said, it was also an issue in older versions. This because a lay-out of the forms can be completely different due to an update or customization. Then in fact the personalization is invalid.

    When I asked about stored personalization during an MVP Summit, people from Microsoft were convincing me that the new format solved this problem and therefore there wouldn't be any conflicts and no reason to delete personalization when releasing new versions of application. I'm surprised that it's deleted anyway; I don't think it should.

    I thought that it wasn't deleted automatically in pervious versions either, but maybe I missed something.

    There was a version of the platform that did do this, but this is no longer done in newer platform versions. What platform version are you on?

    There is a FIX! But not for Update 3 :(
