Hi,
I've setup Marketing for a client in their sandbox environment and soon it will move to production. My question is, will they need to create new DNS entries when they go to production or will everything still work even though it's a different environment if we simply migrate the domain record over?
Hi pdr469,
Before copy you need to free up your DNS zones, remove all DNS records that were created during domain authentication.
If you do not remove DNS records during this step, there will be no way to determine which records were used after the environment is copied as mentioned in doc :
Manage marketing environments (Dynamics 365 Marketing) | Microsoft Docs
Then after the copy you need to procced with authenticating the domain in your UAT org as if you are setting it up for the first time :
Domain authentication (Dynamics 365 Marketing) | Microsoft Docs
This is not an environment copy. Both environments have a Marketing license. This is literally will the client need to do any sort of DNS work after moving records over to the new environment that will have Marketing installed.
