Assigning multiple categories to a single product

We want to use Procurement Categories for our purchasing team.  

The issue we are having is that one item can belong to multiple child nodes under the procurement categories.  

For example, product = Water bottle.  Procurement Category Child Nodes = Beverage and Non Alcoholic Beverages.

How can this be accomplished ?  So if the user looks in "Beverage" Category they will see "Water Bottle" and if they look in "Non Alcoholic Beverages" category they will see "Water Bottle" as well.

    Within the categories this is not possible. But you can accomplish something with the procurement catalogs. Depending on your requirements and functionality where to use it, it has use or not to use the catalogs.

    Procurement categories can be multi-level. What if you put Non Alcoholic Beverages as a child category of Beverages and then assigned Water Bottle the category of Non Alcoholic Beverages. If you look at products by category, you can see all of the Beverages products (products with the Beverages category or one of its child categories assigned - Water Bottle would show up in this list) or you can see just specifically the Non Alcoholic Beverages which would also include the Water Bottle product.
