Problem with internal size of records while opening vendor

Hi,

I am using AX 2012 R3 CU11.

When I am opening the Vendor in AX, I am getting the below error.

Error Details: The total, internal size of the records in your joined SELECT statement is 54958 bytes, but Microsoft Dynamics is by default performance-tuned not to exceed 49152 bytes.

However, if I am deleting the usage data, it gets fixed for few days.

After few days it again crops up which again requires the deletion of usage data to fix the issue.

My question is, it is not a heavy process, then why is this issue cropping up again & again which gets resolved on clearing of usage data.

What is the permanent solution to get rid of this issue.

Moreover we have already set the Max Buffer Size as 48(Default is 25 I guess).

Would appreciate for some help.

Sincerely,

Muneeb

    Hi Mohammad,

The default value for the Max Buffer Size is 48 as of AX 2012 R2. Can you indicate if there are customizations involved which makes the query this size of 54958 bytes? Or do you have an add-on installed?

    Hi Andre

Thank you for your quick response.

No, there are no customization. This is out of box standard.

User is simply trying to open a Vendor from All Vendors List Page which is throwing this error.

Note: While clearing the usage data, we have only removed the usage data related to the vendor (Didn't clear all the usage data)

    Sincerely,

    Muneeb

If you apply filtering, that could get saved in Usage data. If you have very complex filtering with a lot of joined tables, you might exceed the default AX AOS query buffer size limit mentioned by André. Resetting the usage data reverts the filters to standard on your form/query, that is why the issue is gone.

Check with a developer what does your advance filter have (Control+F3) and what is in the query for the user (right click on a field / personalization / Query tab) to try to pinpoint the cause.

Alternatively you may increase the Maximum buffer size in the AX AOS Server Configuration utility a bit with a good reason, but notice that it may come with a performance penalty.

My current company runs this at 100kb currently and we do not have big performance issues, however AX runs on a high-end virtualized environment. Please test the setting in your case before you commit to increasing the value by too much.

    Hi Muneeb,

I am also facing the same issue.

Same like you when we reset usage data will not get any error.

May I know how did you resolve this issue.

    Hi Tulasi,

We were clearing only Vendor related usage data and the issue was getting resolved.

Unfortunately didn't get the time to look for some permanent solution so far as was busy with other assignments.

However, fortunately haven't encountered the issue since long.

    Sincerely,

    Muneeb
