This is somewhat a continuation from an old post that wasn't answered.
"Open Lines in Excel" in D365 Finance and Operations - General Journal is visible in Edge but not IE and Chrome. Any thoughts/recommendations?
Thanks
Hi,
I tested on my test environment, it seems works for me. Would you please give more details?
Hi eS Be,
I have also verified 4 different browsers (New and Old Edge, Chrome and IE) and can't reproduce your issue. Can you tell if you are using the system administrator role or another role? What application version/platform version are you running? I do assume you are testing it with the same form, same user and same environment?
Hello eS_Be,
In addition; possibly upgrading the Chrome version can help!
Sounds odd but can you please check this option too?
Also; as mentioned by André; are you checking in the same form in all different browsers?
Best regards,Sourav Dam

Hey eS_Be,
It will be super helpful if you can send screenshots of the button you see in Edge, but not in Chrome/IE.
This does not seem like it has anything to do with the browser.
Hi
Not much of help but we see the problem now and then. Not connected to users or browsers. Sometimes the button just don't render for ordinary users. The next day it works and no action has been taken. Last time seen was today 23rd August 2022. Updated yesterday to:
Installed product version : 10.0.28 (10.0.1265.62)
Installed platform version : Update52 (7.0.6441.75)
javascript:void(0);
But have reports from 17th of August so probably not the new version.
We have not been able reproduce the problem for system administrator.
Hi, did you find a resolution for this?
We are also experiencing the same issue for multiple users for different roles. It even happens with system administrator.
We have found it mainly happens when a users session times out, when they then go back into it, all they see as an option is 'Ledger journal table'
I have attached two screenshots which show what it should show, and what it then shows.
This is using the same general journal, but with different outcomes.
We are using On Prem:

Hi JackTurner90,
No the problem has not been resolved. But it's not reported recently by any users. Just a heads up that the issue I have is that the "Open lines in Excel" action button in the journal lines form is missing.
/Henrik
Hi Jack,
You can deploy the latest available update on a test environment and check the behavior. If you then still have the issue, you can contact Microsoft Support for some assistance. You can also check LCS issue search for possible known issues.
I'm seeing similar behavior in a production environment. PROD and UAT are the exact same version. The "Open lines in Excel" button is missing from all journal forms in PROD but is there in UAT. I just made some modifications to the VendInvoiceJournalTemplate and imported it first into UAT for testing, then PROD after testing was approved. The option to Open in Excel still exists in journal lines, but not at the journal batch header.
Checked that the template config was the same in both environments, cleared usage data for my user in PROD, checked LCS issues, all to no avail. Just checking here before I submit a MSFT ticket. Thanks
Ive not found a resolution as of yet. Please let me know if Microsoft come back with anything on the ticket
