This is somewhat a continuation from an old post that wasn't answered.
"Open Lines in Excel" in D365 Finance and Operations - General Journal is visible in Edge but not IE and Chrome. Any thoughts/recommendations?
Thanks
MSFT replied that they weren't aware of any action on their part and that it could have been a data caching issue.
I submitted the MSFT ticket yesterday and with very little communication from MSFT (basically an email confirming receipt of the ticket) the Open in Excel button has mysteriously appeared this morning. I assume they did something on the server side overnight but haven't had a response from them as what it might have been.
Hi
Adding a screen dump from one of our users showing when the button isn't rendered:
I have asked all users that have reported the issue to report when it happens again.

Will do.
Ive not found a resolution as of yet. Please let me know if Microsoft come back with anything on the ticket
I'm seeing similar behavior in a production environment. PROD and UAT are the exact same version. The "Open lines in Excel" button is missing from all journal forms in PROD but is there in UAT. I just made some modifications to the VendInvoiceJournalTemplate and imported it first into UAT for testing, then PROD after testing was approved. The option to Open in Excel still exists in journal lines, but not at the journal batch header.
Checked that the template config was the same in both environments, cleared usage data for my user in PROD, checked LCS issues, all to no avail. Just checking here before I submit a MSFT ticket. Thanks
Hi Jack,
You can deploy the latest available update on a test environment and check the behavior. If you then still have the issue, you can contact Microsoft Support for some assistance. You can also check LCS issue search for possible known issues.
Hi JackTurner90,
No the problem has not been resolved. But it's not reported recently by any users. Just a heads up that the issue I have is that the "Open lines in Excel" action button in the journal lines form is missing.

Hi, did you find a resolution for this?
We are also experiencing the same issue for multiple users for different roles. It even happens with system administrator.
We have found it mainly happens when a users session times out, when they then go back into it, all they see as an option is 'Ledger journal table'
I have attached two screenshots which show what it should show, and what it then shows.
This is using the same general journal, but with different outcomes.
