Great, thanks
You would need to use it in conjunction with removing the Site ID from the extra items - then it should work beautifully for you.
We can easily customise an active stock report by site id from Smartlist. the only problem is i will still have to add or remove them manually (line by line) in the stock count template. I guess the second part may not be possible with GP.
Frank - Mass Add adds all items registered for that site (criteria is by site). I was trying to filter this down to just active stocks, that is those that had some movements in that site. This will ensure we have all items related to that site, even if their stock on hand is zero. Currently, I've been told to either 1. mass add all items and then delete unwanted item lines to reduce stock count form size or 2. don't mass add and add all items individually.
Both the above methods seem quite manual and i just wanted to upload a list of items into the respective stock templates
That is a really good thought - too complex for my skills but it may be able to be done with some Excel or SSRS based reporting.
I have done a series of blogs on stock count including setting up schedules. Have a look at these:
Setting Up Stock Count Schedules: thefutureofwork.co.nz/.../dynamics-gp-setting-up-stock-count-schedules
Processing Stock Counts: thefutureofwork.co.nz/.../processing-stock-counts-dynamics-gp
I have some others there on transfers and so forth as well that may be useful.
Cheers

Shonal, you should have a Mass Add button at the bottom of the Stock Count Schedule window that allows you to add all items in a Site or a number of other criteria.
Thanks, Heather. I will work on removing unwanted items from sites and then update them over time. I was just thinking if it would be possible for this module to "see" what the sites have received or sold during the month and then update the inventory items to be displayed on forms accordingly - so if an item has been received, adjusted, sold or transferred to one site, then only those items are shown, even if their quantity on hand is zero...
Also, is there an easier way to add items on the stock count templates? I am new and have been told to add items one line at a time..could we bulk load specific items?
This is where using the Site Assignment options can come in very handy. While it is tempting to automatically assign all sites to all items, it is issues like this that are not easy to manage.
You could look at removing the site assignment to all items for the smaller site and then only assign the site if they start selling that item. That way you can build a stock count for them each month based on the items they are selling from that site.
If you use the option to not reuse the stock count, then each month you can set one up for the site and use the restriction of items assigned to that site to build.
Hi, thanks all. Even though ideal to have all sales inventory items on the stock count forms, my issue is that we have multiple sites and some have less than 10 items while some have up to 200 items. these items keep changing also. Therefore, if i print a stock count form for one of the smaller sites, i end up with a 10+ page template.
I could delete all items and create a template with 10 items only but the problem is that they might have some other items in the next month and the template will need to be monitored and changed before each stock count.
Agree with Frank - there is a reason. If the items are discontinued or otherwise, you can use the ranges to only select items you want on the schedules. But within a range of items you should WANT to print whether they are zero or not.
I think you can achieve your requirement by creating a customization in Dexterity.
Hope this helps!!!
