Hi All

I am using GP Version 8 (very old isn't ) :-)

Suddenly my user has complained that GL listing on Smartlist - Account Transaction was disapeared (missing).

So i check to the table GL10000 and GL10001 and i found the record on the GL10001 (GL Work detail) table was missing

but on GL10000 table the record still exist. it's weird !

Does any have problem about this ? Or any clue about this ?

FYI : - The number of missing record is more than 50 record or more

         - Every month there are two or five record with the same cases

Thank you very much and sorry for my english :-)

Best  Regard

Dedy

Re: Record on GL10001 (detail) missing !

    Dear Dedy

This happens when the  language setting in GP client computers was different that SQL server language. When its different language we will get one error message while open the General Ledger transaction entry window sayig "All Call stacks are in Use. Cannot Start script". If we trying to open any saved transaction, the detailed info in (GL10001) will remove. Only the header will be there in the table.

In your case the sort order is 1252 , so language settings should be English(united states) for ALL the GP clients.

In the Regional Settings,  change the regional option to English(united states)

In the regional settings, Advanced Tab,  Languages for non-Unicode programs make sure you select  English(United States)  (if not , select it and restart the computer)

    Hi Biju

Bolew the result after i ran sp sp_helpsort

Latin1-General, case-insensitive, accent-sensitive, kanatype-insensitive, width-insensitive for Unicode Data, SQL Server Sort Order 52 on Code Page 1252 for non-Unicode Data

I ran the SQL syntax SELECT SERVERPROPERTY ('Collation') too, and see the result below

    SQL_Latin1_General_CP1_CI_AS

Can you help me what all of this mean for the GP or maybe there are links for reading.

    Thank you

    Regards

    Hi Biju

Thank you very much for your reply.

I'll inspect the client language settings, ODBC configuration, etc.

Can you or anyone explain technically why something like this happened on GP?

    Regards

    Dedy

    Dear Dedy

Please check the SQL server Collation Settings / sort order (sp_helpssort)  , if it is 1252 (English), make sure the language you are selected in the regional and language settings (administrative area) in control panel are also English. (for all GP client computers).

Make sure when you create the odbc uncheck  the perform translation for character data.

    Regards

    Biju
