Hide 'Add to Queue' from Activity Timeline

Posted on by 28,964 Super User 2024 Season 1

Hide 'Add to Queue' from Activity Timeline.

I'm trying to to rid of the 'Add to Queue' from the inline quick actions on the Activity Timeline in unified interface, as my organization is currently not using queues.

In general, the customization possibilities are pretty good for the Activity Timeline. However, I'm not able to rid of the 'Add to Queue' inline action.

I've tried to remove all privileges from the security profile regarding queues, but that doesn't seem to get rid of the quick action - unless I'm doing it wrong.

Any suggestions?

As per MS, removing/hiding "Add to queue" button from Timeline is unfortunately not feasible/not supported, as it is there by design.

Bipin, have you received a response from Microsoft on this?

I don't think the timeline component takes into consideration ribbon customizations.

Raising a support ticket is the right way to go, thanks.

    Hello,

Queue entity is not part of our APP. Also we have removed all permisiion on queue entity still not worked.

Tried removing add to queue button from Activity entity subgrid from ribbon workbench. However it is not fixed.

Thanks for you suggestion. We will raise microsoft support ticket.

    Hello,

The screenshot you shared shows the previous rendering of the Timeline in the Unified Interface (pre-Release Wave 2, 2019).
The new rendering makes the "Add to Queue" button much smaller:

However, as you mentioned, it is currently not possible to hide that button, whether the Queue entity is part of your app or not, and even it the user doesn't have any privilege on the Queue entity.

My suggestion would be to raise that point through a Support Request: https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com/support
