Want to include Barcode number in an item configuration package

hello,

i have created a configuration package for the table ITEM, in order to import/export more rapidly from excel.

I managed to include all the fields i want: number, description, vendor number etc..

Except the Barcode number, which is not apparently a field in the table??

How can i find this field to include it in my configuration package? apparently i can't find it, also, how can i make it in a way that when i import from the excel list i made, to include barcode?

Thank you in advance

"Bar Codes" are stored in Table 5717 Item Cross References.  This allows you to have different Bar Codes depending on the Unit of Measure.  You may have one for PCS for instance and another barcode for PACK.

You'll need to populate Item No., Cross-Reference Type = "Bar Code", Unit of Measure (e.g. "PCS") and Cross-Reference No. (with the actual barcode) at least.

Thank you for your reply Paul.

However, the only field relevant stored in table 5717 is " Discontinue Barcode ".

The fields I mention are all *relevant*.  When "Cross-Reference Type" is set to "Bar Code" then Cross-Reference No. is intended to be exactly that.  The same table can be used for other Cross-References, i.e. if your Customers and/or Vendors have a different code for one of your items you can record that here by setting Cross-Reference Type appropriately.  I can't think of anywhere in NAV Bar Codes are specifically used in any standard reports or pages but you would be able to pull it onto reports yourself or, for instance, retrieve it through Bar Code software such as BarTender.

There is no Barcode field as such, it is a separate table as a Cross-Reference functionality. Please refer here:

    forum.mibuso.com/.../item-cross-reference-options-barcode

and setup your configuration package accordingly

    Thank you for being informative.

I just need one more thing:

Suppose you're filling an Item card in Nav, you filled description, item number etc.. and filled Barcode No. as 138494 let's say.

Where is the barcode number stored in the DB? It must be stored somewhere!

Only in related table 5717 although there is field number 1217 GTIN on the Item Card in NAV 2016 (I believe) and newer.
