Currency Symbol Change and Update for Existing Reocrds

I have changed my default currency symbol from Arabic to English AED (International 3 Character).

New Records are OK, but how to I change the symbol in existing (old) records, its still showing Arabic symbol for existing records.

Rather than updating the existing currency - did you create a new one. AFAIK this is the only way that you could retain the old symbol since the records themselves do not store the symbol but instead a reference to the currency via the transactioncurrencyid field.

The exception to this would be if you have any text fields that are customized to hold currency values?

I did not create a new currency. The currency is UAE "Dirhams".

Currency is same, before i had select the Arabic Name (Symbol) and because of that It was showing it in Arabic Font. Its very difficult for non Arabic staff to understand the Arabic font.

Thus now i want the same currency but with English Name "AED" (i.e International slandered of 3 Character). I have changed it and for any new record its showing "AED" but for existing Record its still showing in Arabic font.

Rahul,

This is might be you have some deactivate currency with Arabic symbol and it is used in your old records.

and when you are creating new records default / active currency with AED is used.

I tried in Online CRM by changing existing active currency symbol and it is updating in old records also.
