Our NAV system has been set up to allow us to Send Statements directly to suppliers.
However this stopped working last week and we are still trying to establish the cause via our software support supplier.
Is there a way to create statements as a PDF that we can email from Outlook as a workaround?

When you run the Customer Statement Report don't you have the option for the Report Output to save as PDF?
Which NAV version you are using?
As in 2016 you can send a report as a PDF by using Email as attachment, directly it will create a PDF and attahed on Outlook window, and open it, there you can send it by entering user email id.
Also as per below image on Posted Purchase Invoice we have an Email option you can use this too.
Hope it will help till you have customized this solution automatic.
