Formatting Currency in E-mail Message Set-up

I'm looking to format the dollar amount in an e-mail message set-up so that when I e-mail my vendor remittances it has the total payment in a two decimal format. Right now, when I enter the (%Check Total%) it displays with five decimal points.

I could have sworn I'd done this before, but can't seem to find a reference for it anywhere.

Thanks!

    Derek,

I have a client who wants to display 2 decimal in workflow email messages for the document amount, quantity ordered, unit cost and extended cost.

The currency set up window has 2 decimals for the Z-US$ currency ID.

Any other way to format the numbers with 2 decimals?

    Thanks,

    Tina Haerr

    Hello Jennifer,

I believe that in Dynamics GP 2010, it does a straight 'pull' from SQL Server, which is 5 decimal places, which is why you're seeing the '%Check Total%' displaying 5 decimal places.

For Dynamics GP 2013 and newer, there should be a Currency Decimal Place Setup (MDGP > Tools > Setup > System > Currency).

As a test, I backed up the DYNAMICS database and changed currency to 5 decimals, (it was set to 2), then printed remittance with the test field, now it prints with 5 decimals, so it appears that the Currency Setup is what drives this.  **Note: Once you go higher with the currency decimals, you cannot go back down.

So, this depends on what version of Dynamics GP you're currently using.

    Thank you,
