SOP Word Templates Not Working

I've created a Word template for PO Blank Form and assigned it to the company and when printing a PO the templates works correctly. I've also created some Word templates for SOP Order Blank, SOP Quote Blank and the SOP Packing Slip Forms and none of them work. Instead of launching Word and merging to the template they print off the standard Report. I've done the same for access for the sales documents as I did for the purchase order yet the sales ones don't work. Anyone seen this before?

    It seems if you send them to screen they don't work but if you save to file they do come off properly. If you're saving to file then they also will send to screen correctly at the same time. This is different behaviour than used in Purchasing. Can someone verify that I am right in what I am seeing? Thanks.

    I can tell you that what you are experiencing for SOP is not 'normal'.  We use the templates on both POP and SOP (but, we do not use order) and they all print to screen and printer using the template and we do not need to use the File option.

    I'm seeing this on both Fabrikam on my laptop and a system I am implementing on client site.

    The only commonality is me; I installed both systems.

    Edit: to ask: Are you using Word 2007 or 2010?

    Okay, I've found the cause of the problem.

    In Reports >> Template Configuration there is a checkbox "Allow printing of standard report when template is available".

    If you untick this then the sales Word templates will not work to screen or printer unless they also go to file.

    Check the box and they will work correctly.
