Coupons vs discount with discont code

Hi experts,

In AX 2012 R3 we have the concept of coupons found in the call center module and retail discounts found in the retail module. For retail discounts (eg. simple discount), you have the possibility to add discount code and decide that discount code is required.

My questions are:

- Can coupons be used even in online store and POS?

- Can retail discounts WITH discount code be used in a call center sales order? If so, how is the discount code added to the order?

    This you can achieve by following steps:

    1. Create discount D1

    2. Create a price group P1 and attach that price group P1 to the discount D1.

    3. Create an affiliation A1 and attach that price group P1 to A1.

    4. Create sales order and then use A1 as discount code.

    Hi,

    I was referring to the field 'Discount Code' on the retail discounts (see also RetailDiscountCode table), the field is found under General tab in the discounts form. Let's say we setup a discount code DC1 for D1. Even with affiliation added to the SO, the discount code DC1 would need to be added for the discount D1 to be applied. In the online store, there is possibility to apply discount code as far as I understand, but I cannot find any input field on the sales order.

    Discount code does not work with Sales orders. If you want to achieve manual discounts on Sales order, then you will have to use Affiliations as Discount codes. We have already did this for one of the client as this the best out of box solution available.

    I think there will be no winner in this battle as two candidates are worthy,  both of these things are the best friends of the Shopaholic economist I don't know what I would have done without them I probably would have been ruined long ago:)  I even have a favorite resource https://promocodius.com/pl/shops/kod-rabatowy-adidas that I constantly use and recommend it to all my friends at least as far as shoes and clothing are concerned it's simply not better to find I know this from my own experience believe me.
