I've recently installed the Dynamics 365 app for Outlook and can't understand why the addon button displays here (see image below ).
In all the tutorials, it noted that I would see a dynamics 365 button on the ribbon area of Outlook instead of in the above location.
Also when I'm composing a new email, I need to click on the Office Add-ins button and then select the Dynamics CRM app in order to access it and track emails whilst it's being composed.
Did I do something wrong in the installation that's preventing the CRM button in appearing on the ribbon?

I have the same question (0)I see this post is a little old so you may have resolved your issue already. You are still seeing the old functionality because you were on Dynamics CRM 8.1. After your tenant is upgraded to 8.2 (Dynamics 365) then the add-on will automatically update to the new behavior. However, just like the old add-on you currently have to click clicking the ribbon button every time to change emails to see CRM info or to track. You cannot (as of this post) pin the Dynamics 365 window.
