Hide reopen opportunity - in Outlook

I've used the Ribbon Workbench to remove the Reopen Opportunity button. It is removed in the web-browser. However the button is there in Outlook. Can it be removed in Outlook as well?

    Hi Andrew,

    Are you using the custom display rule? or just Hide button

    There is a display rule for outlook as well if you are using custom rule..

    Have you tried to refreshed the outlook, or maybe close and open again.

    Is it happening only for Offline/Online Outlook or both.

    Not sure: I clicked the Command bar button and ribbon button and chose hide in both.

    The xml is as below.

    Reading it seems to imply the Outlook hide command is not there - but there are two so I may be wrong - One for the command bar (online form) and one for the Ribbon (is that Outlook).  I will try - Open/close (tried x 3 maybe a 4th?)

    <RibbonDiffXml>

     <CustomActions>

       <HideCustomAction HideActionId="new.Mscrm.Form.opportunity.ReopenOpp.Hide" Location="Mscrm.Form.opportunity.ReopenOpp" />

       <HideCustomAction HideActionId="new.Mscrm.HomepageGrid.opportunity.ReopenOpp.Hide" Location="Mscrm.HomepageGrid.opportunity.ReopenOpp" />

     </CustomActions>

     <Templates>

       <RibbonTemplates Id="Mscrm.Templates"></RibbonTemplates>

     </Templates>

     <CommandDefinitions />

     <RuleDefinitions>

       <TabDisplayRules />

       <DisplayRules />

       <EnableRules />

     </RuleDefinitions>

     <LocLabels />

    </RibbonDiffXml>

    Andrew,

    Okay..

    Because I found other interesting post:

    social.microsoft.com/.../modifying-the-outlook-ribbon

    It said that the location ID is different between web and outlook.

    But, as I know, the Hide button is always hide whatever its location.

    If it still happens, I think you need to define the display rule, to return always False to hide it all under any circumstance.

    But, since your problem is gone now, so just keep in mind.

    Thank you!
