Field Service License

Posted on by 1,037

I have more than 500 field service mobile users but they are not created as users in CRM. Most of them are contractors and I don't want to create them in CRM.

However I want them to use field service mobile and assign work orders to them.

what is the best way to do this ?

I will be using Resco mobile since they have a good licensing package for contractors

    Hi,

you mean th CRM mobile app?

Then either you spare the money on developping an app/portal connecting to CRM to update the Field Service record and pay for the Field Service licence

Or you developp it and don't pay the licence.

I.e. either you pay a monthly fee for the Field Service SaaS or you pay a dev to build a nice app.

I Prefer to use the mobile application since it will be give better user experience. and 70 % of the functionality is already created

    Hi,

did you think about integrating your requirement in a Dynamics portal?

If you create them as contacts and create them as bookable resource there's an option on the mobile application to login as external user. but then I will have an issue with the license of this one since Microsoft will only give you a license if it is a CRM user.

The normal way of doing this from what I have experienced is to set contractors as 'Contacts' and sending the work order details by email or by any other offline method. Then updating the Work Order later once its completed.

I wonder if you could send a link via email to a secure webpage for the user to edit the Work Order details.
