Display contract lines view on dashboard

Hi,

In CRM 2013, CRM2015, CRM2015 SP1 i'm creating a dashboard displaying information regarding contracts.

i'd like to create a view with contract lines.

In advanced find etc. the contractlines are available but when i try to create a dashboard the entity 'contract lines' is not visible in the entity dropdown list while other product entities (eg. invoice, opportunity, quote products) are available.

Anyone knows Why this entity is not available and how to make it visible or knows how to show contract line information on a dashboard?

I've already tried some unsupported customizations as described in http://nishantrana.me/2013/06/17/enable-sub-grid-for-contract-line-contractdetail-entity-in-crm-2011-3/

I've also compared the db entity settings with invoicelines by changing the values of the IsMapiGridEnabled, ISEnabledForCharts and CanCreateCharts with no succes ;-)

Thanks in advance!

    Hi Sebastian,

I tried something that worked and hopefully will solve your challenge here to display contract lines on a dashboard.

The method I utilized was connections and performed the following steps:

    1.  Enabled connections on the Contract Line Entity (General page for Entity)

    2.  Created a couple of connection roles and set the matching role on each as the other one...

         a.  Contract For

                  i.  Selected Entity - Contract

ii.  matching connection role - Contract Line of

         b.  Contract Line of

                  i.  Selected Entity - Contract Line

ii.  matching connection role - Contract For

    3.  I then created an background workflow on the creation of a Contract Line that would create the connection and set the roles between the contract and the contract line.  The roles were important here for the View in the next step (#4)

    4.  I created a Connection entity new View for the Contract Lines where I selected the Contract Line as the entity in the view, selected the columns to view, and the filter criteria pulled only where the Role (From) equals "Contract Line of"

That is it, with this I was able to add this view to a new dashboard which effectively shows all the contract lines in a list view on my dashboard with the fields I wanted.

Hopefully this is what you were looking to do.  Connections was the only way I could think of to make this work with using standard CRM functionality.

Let me know if you need more information / screen shots or if something is not clear.

    Thanks,

    Drew
