Unhandled script exception: Script 'xxxxxxx' not found

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Dear all,

One of my users has been getting various script errors this past week. E.g. when she tries to save a journal, she gets the following error : Unhandled script exception: Script 'Add_Record_Modified_Record' not found.

When she tries to retrieve a saved GL transaction, she gets the following error message : Unhandled script exception: Script 'setBackground of form 'syUserDefaults' not found.

Then GP hangs and user has to restart. Another user also experiences this. But other users are not affected.

She is using GP10.

What could the problem be?

Thanks and regards,

Saras

Thanks Leslie and Heather. I will try your suggestions. The thing is the error happens sporadically. I am not able to replicate it sometimes.

    Thanks.

Some further steps you can take if this does not work to try and establish whether it is the workstation or the user that is the problem:

    - what happens if someone else logs into GP on her workstation?

    - what happens if she logs into GP on another workstation?

If it proves to be the user, probably the easiest fix is to set up a new user ID for her and delete the old.

    Saras,

If nobody else is receiving this error, I would try a rather unconventional (but easy) first pass at resolution. If it's just her workstation, I would copy the dynamics folders from one of the functional workstations and copy it over the existing dynamics gp folder on the workstation acting up.

Doing that removes the possibility of a corrupted dictionary. Probably not the cause, but if it's only her - then her workstation and/or its network connection is the source of the problem.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie
