CRM2011 On premise to CRM2016 - Silverlight issues

Hello CRM'mers

Context: We are a client, migrating CRM 2011 on premise, which is embedded with custom built  to suite business model using "Silverlight" during year 2010 period to CRM2016 - online "like to like" upgrade.

Now after the 3 hops from CRM 2011 > 2013> 2015 > 2016 we are almost going with the Azure - cloud integration.

1) Having "Silverlight" issues and plan to apply the HTML5 as a workaround

2) Also considering "Greenfield" based solutions instead of HTML5 Patch

Questions:

Is there some one who can comment of the pro & cons, resources, research stuff for my better understanding?

Please accept my sincere thanks for your time in advance.

    Re-phrased:

    Context: Test Integration

We are a client, migrating CRM 2011 on premise to Online- CRM2016, which is embedded on within customization suite -to match business model.

MS Dynamics CRM2013 have moved away from "Silverlight" components, migrated from CRM2011 to CRM2016 - online "like to like" upgrade. Now after the 3 hops from CRM 2011 > 2013> 2015 > 2016 (Note: We are in the verge to going with the Azure - cloud integration.)

    1) Having "Silverlight" issues and plan to apply the HTML5 as a workaround

    2) Also considering "Vendor developed" baseline ensemble and apply HTML5 Patch, instead of re-code silverlight comopnents.

    3) Looking for workaround with "sliverlight" other than HTML5?

    Question:

Is there some one who can comment of the pro & cons, resources for research for a better Testing?

Please accept my sincere thanks for your time in advance.

Best option which can live for long is HTML5 option (in my opinion) ... if you give more details on what exactly your silverlight does i may give better suggestion.

We think you need to replace Silverlight with HTML5 because most of latest version of browser does not support the Silverlight and Silverlight is more heavy language. As per as performance is concert HTML5 is more faster than Silverlight.

Note : The Silverlight component will work in CRM 2016 but only on internet explorer.

    Thanks!

    Hello Mouhanad,

Thank you for the email response. Silverlight is a Unsupported component, usually an issue if CRM2011 is upgraded to CRM2016. We are using IE11- Webpages of customized CRM2016  display is distorted or icons of work areas lay behind which must be brought forward.  (IE in Windows 10 or "evergreen" browsers such as Chrome, Edge etc are non feasible at the moment).

The practical use or navigation is impacted -A nuisance as far as "user experience" is concerned.

    Hello

Many thanks for the comments, it is interesting note: " The Silverlight component will work in CRM 2016 but only on internet explorer"

I am blown away with "Firefox" 47.0.0.1 which is stable and has 'zero' issues with "silverlight"

    Have a nice day.
