Organisation upgrade 8.0.1.79 failure - SQL Cannot insert

Our on prem development version of dynamics 2016 recently got the windows update for dynamics 365 which has upgraded the version to 8.2.0749 but the database version is still 8.0.1.79. This has now stopped any users being able to publish updates for solutions. When I try to run the update from deployment manager it fails with the following error :System.Exception: Error.ActionFailed Microsoft.Crm.Tools.Admin.InstallDatabaseUpdatesAction ---> System.Data.SqlClient.SqlException: Cannot insert duplicate key row in object 'dbo.SolutionBase' with unique index 'ndx_UniqueName'. The duplicate key value is (SnapshotSolution80).

Any help would be appreciated as this has caused development to stop.

    I had this exact error.  It looks like it is a problem caused by someone trying to re-use a solution snapshot unique name at Microsoft. 

    Here's a rundown of what i had to do to fix the problem:

    1.  Restore Org DB to a CRM server running CRM V8.1.0.359
    2.  Delete Stored Procedure [dbo].[p_RetrieveMultipleDirectAncestors] from the Org DB.
    3.  Apply Update 8.1.0.359 to Org DB
    4.  Backup DB and move it back to CRM server with CRM V8.2.0.749
