GP close itself at the login screen

Hi, This morning I tried to open GP in the server, where I used to open it remotely from client machine using windows "remote desktop connection". After choosing the company name GP closed by itself. Still working fine in the remote mode, but not working in the server itself. Any suggestions! Kamal

    At what stage does it close itself? Before, during, or after the login process? What version of GP are we talking about? Are you logging in with a profile used to log in remotely?

    Thank you for your prompt reply. When I put the password, it moves to the company drop down menu, I choose the company and click OK, then it closes itself. It version 10.0. Yes, it is administrator Please advise.

    When you say "administrator" are you referring to the domain administrator or the server's local administrator profile? Which did you use to install GP? Sorry, but I have to ask.

    It's OK. It is domain administrator, as my GP server is part of my domain

    Abdullah, you may need to setup a DEXSQL.LOG from your server to see what the issue may be. Edit your DEX.INI file located under the GP\Data folder on your server and change the following entries, as follows:

    SQLLogSQLStmt=TRUE
    SQLLogODBCMessages=TRUE
    SQLLogAllODBCMessages=TRUE

    To do this, all users will need to be out of the system. Once you edit the DEX.INI file, log back into GP from the server. Post back with the lines generated in the DEXSQL.LOG, especially the last group of lines.

    Sorry, I have only Dex. chm/dic/tlb, Dex_US.dic, Dexfield.tlb, Dexrfld.tlb, Dexvba.dll and Dexvba.tlb

    You need to locate your DEX.INI file. In v10 you can find under Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics\GP\Data.

    Unfortunately, the same problem.     Abdullah,

    I acknowledge you will have the same problem. Nonetheless, the DEXSQL.LOG displays no apparent issues with your log in and subsequent attempt to enter a company. Perhaps if you can delete the DEXSQL.LOG and email me a new one I could take a look at the entire file, rather than just a fraction of it.
