MR - row definition period ranges

Posted on by 1,455

I have a client that wants a report I have never seen - they want the balance sheet section of a row definition to show the 13 months average balance of all balance sheet accounts - normally I could do this in a column, however, the columns are restricted already to locations, sale type and department.  So, I want to know if I can somehow put an account modifer in the row to total the last 13 periods, in a NP row, then in a printing row, take that total and divide by 13.

I don't see a way to get the row to display Current period through 12 more months prior.

    Deborah,

I'm having trouble visualizing what you're asking.

You said that "the columns are restricted already to locations, sale type and department". Does this mean that the same balance sheet account row shows balances in columns for every location, sale type, and department? I presume that those are Account segments, yes? Can you add another column with no restrictions to show the 13-month average?

I guess if you sketched a picture of what the client is asking for I could offer better suggestions.

    Sincerely,

Forgot to add - the P & L section of this same report - they want the total for the last 12 periods (regardless of the fiscal year).
