ReportReport
Posted on by

As a system administrator I want to know which permissions each user had, so I want to able to create a report containing the authorizations per users.

Is there anyone who has experience running such a report?

    Hello,

Creating an actual report would be quite tricky as there are multiple entities to query and join together, which are not enabled for Advanced Find (mainly the privileges)

I recommend taking a look at downloading the XrmToolBox from https://www.xrmtoolbox.com/

One of the many useful tools in this application is called "Your User Security - Magnified", which runs an analysts of the security roles a user has, adds them all up and consolidates them into one view.

    1. Start the XrmToolBox
    2. Click 'Connect' to connect to Dynamics 365
    3. Start the "Your User Security - Magnified" tool
If you don't see it, open the 'Plugin Store' from the 'Tools' menu to install it

    4. Select a user from the dropdown

If you require a downloadable report, there is another tool in the XrmToolBox called "Users, Team and Security Role Report"

This one works a little different and the result is an Excel sheet with all the role combinations. The privileges themselves will not be visible.

    1. Start the XrmToolBox
    2. Click 'Connect' to connect to Dynamics 365
    3. Start the "Users, Team and Security Role Report" tool
If you don't see it, open the 'Plugin Store' from the 'Tools' menu to install it
      dyncomm_5F00_mindsunited_5F00_usersteams.png
    4. Click 'Load Data'
    5. Enable the checkboxes for the users you want to include in the list on the left
    6. Click 'Generate Report'
    7. An Excel report will now be saved to your disk at the specified location

Hope this helps you get started. If you have any other questions, please let me know!

    Hi Arno,

There is already a report out of the box for this. In your system navigate to reports, then select User Summary and this will generate a report for each business unit of the users and their applied roles.

See www.powerobjects.com/.../dynamics-crm-user-summary-report for some more info
