Emails with p7m attachment

Hi,

we have recently upgraded our system to CRM 2013 OnPrem and we have switched outlook snychornization to the server side component.

Previously all digitally signed emails did not come to CRM. Now they come, but the attachment is p7m type and users cannot open it.

Do you have any idea how it can be fixed?

Thank you,

Michal

    Hi Michal,

What is the error you are getting? What happens when users are trying to open it?

The user cannot open the attachment as there is no application associated with it.

    Hi Michal,

CRM does not open the attachment it just will download it, and then appropriate software needs to be installed on the system to open the extension. Its like if i download excel file from somewhere but do not have excel installed, it will not open. I know browsers have extensions to open some file types nowadays, but even that need to be installed as add-on on browser, its not something CRM will do.

    Hi,

yes, I understand that, but CRM converts the attachment to p7m, when we open the same email on Exchange server, it has regular pdf attachment and a digital signature.

    Hi Michal,

At this time, there are known issues like this.

Similar issue happens in outlook: support.microsoft.com/.../913966

There are some options like this one worth the try:download.cnet.com/.../3000-2092_4-10570564.html

Also, it might be issue on user's certificates/server certificates as well:

    Hi Michal,

I've got the same problem with CRM and found out that it appears with signated emails (not encrypted).

Did you find a solution at CRM site?

    Thank you and regards

    Dirk
