i have to increase length of a field on a screen.once i have increased length of field in db then while opening that particular screen i get  system message-10050 as 'the application specified size of record gltran(415) does not match the database declared size(955)'.it seems that there is some validation in code that is why i want to check the source code.but unable to view source code.can anybody tell me how i can view code of the screen.

It is not possible to alter the size of columns in SL tables - if you do so you will break all screens that use that table.

You can make use of the User fields that are in most tables.

And, you can add your own tables, although this may require you to write a bundle of VBA code to Fetch & Save data from your table.

The easiest way is probably to make use of the Notes ability - that is designed for adding lengthy comments.

In the GL Journals screen (01.010) put focus on the tight grid line, then click on the Notes icon at the bottom of the grid.

If for any reason that is not suitable, the only thing I can think of is to create your own table to hold the long description.

If you decide to do that, you'll be writing (and debugging) a lot of VBA code ... :)

    That's how I see it.
