 Hello

I want to install navision odbc driver for my windows 2008 std without hyper-V, after I install the driver located on the 4.0 CD, I find MS Dynamics driver under USER DSN, but i can not remove it or configure it. when adding new driver, I can not locate navision driver in opened diallog window. Same with the driver located on the 5.0 CD.

If I try to configure this user dsn error occures: The setup routines for the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Driver ODBC driver could not be found.  Please reinstall the driver.

    Hi Eoro,

Windows 2008 shares the same codebase as Windows Vista and neither Dynamics NAV 4.0, nor Dynamics NAV 5.0 is supported by Windows Vista.  So you cannot expect to get the ODBC driver working here.

You need to use either Dynamics NAV 5.0 SP1 or Dynamics NAV 2009.

    Hello Eric,

We just installed 5.0 sp1 on a 2003 x64 bit machine and are having a difficult time with ODBC.  We got a hotfix from John Collins, but it's still:

    1. Giving this message when we try to configure

"The setup routines for the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Driver ODBC". Then "Component not found in Registry" in a "Drivers ConfigDSN, ConfigDriver, or ConfigTranslator failed." box.

    2. And once we configure the Data Source with the 32 bit tool (%systemroot%\SysWOW64\odbcad32.exe) it only works for simple MS Access queries.

It was working fine with the 32 bit version of 2003 with the same executables.

     Thanks,

    David Maerzke
