Recalculate Inventory - Recurrence

Hello Community,

I want to set up a recurring inventory recalculate process to happen every Saturday, but the system requires a date to recalculate inventory up to as shown below.  If I set this up as the first Saturday coming up, will it continue to only do up to 3/1 if I set up a recurring schedule?  If so, is it best to just set it to the end of the year so that every time it happens it will always be fresh on that date it runs on?

You can use the field Period Code with a Date Interval for today. An example is described here: https://community.dynamics.com/forums/thread/details/?threadid=f74479d1-ad18-4d5a-bec6-892c7fd3bb99

    Kind regards,

    Hi Hylke,

So just simply making a new date interval with today's date will always update the date when the batch runs the recurrence inventory recalculation (e.g., if I schedule it weekly, it will now use that date for that week when it needs to run)?

    Hi Jsabanovski,

Your understanding is correct. The period code is evaluated at run time of the batch job whereas the field Revaluate inventory up to will be stored within the batch parameters.
I had a similar requirement where I needed to configure a period for yesterday. That is also possible if you create a period code starting from today minus one day..

    Hi Andre,

Understood, but I have a batch job scheduled for recurrence on 03/15/2025 but when I look at the parameters of the batch job it show recalculate inventory up to 03/06/2025 when I originally set up the recurrence.  Will the recurring batch job still calculate inventory up to 03/15/2025 or 03/06/2025?  That is where I'm a little bit confused on.

Can you share a screenshot of the current parameters you used for the recurring batch job?

    Andre,

Below is the screenshot of the recurring batch job that's next scheduled on 03/15/2025.  When I click on parameters in the Batch tasks, it shows that the recalculate inventory up to date as 03/06/2025, not 03/15/2025.

    Hi Jsabanovski,

Thanks for sharing the screenshot. At the moment you select the Period code, it defaults the date to today. This date is stored in the parameters, but gets changed the moment the batch job starts. So, when your batch runs on March 15, it will first replace the date with the actual date and the recalculates the inventory up to March 15, not March 6.

    Hi Andre,

Perfect!  Thank you for clarifying the process!  Have a great day.
