Hi Sun Ashton,
You can track the changes by version control feature(check in /Check out process).
every time when you want to modify any object then check out that object and after the completon of changes you can check in that object.the version control system will track history of each changes done by developer.
there are such version control vmorphx,Team fonduation server.
Thanks and regards,
Deepak Kumar
Thanks Deepak.
From your answer I understand that these are external products. However, is there any way to create a report WITHIN MS Dynamics AX? I would be requesting the list of software changes / updates in many companies and asking them to pay an extra license is not feasible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

AX2009 contains simple "MorphX" Version Control System and supports three external solutions.
Version control systems are designed for this kind of tasks as you required, so don't expect any better suggestion. :-)
Martin,
Thanks for your reply but still not good enough. ;-)
First of all, I never said it was AX2009. The answer I am looking for should work in AX 4.0 SP2 (my client has decided not to update to AX 5.0). Again, I am not looking for a "version control system" even if they were designed for this kind of task.
My question is: How to generate a report that extracts information from table(s) of the Microsoft Dynamics AX system (like UtilElements, etc.) to produce a list of the objects that have been changed / updated during a specific period of time?
If robust ERP systems like SAP, JDE or OF can generate a simple list of the updates / software changes applied during a specific period of time using ONLY their own reporting functionality, then AX should be able as well...
I know there is a lot of people out there with great experience in MS Dynamics who may have tried an alternative to the Version Control System that comes with MorphX. So, if you don't mind, I will expect a better suggestion from any of them :-)
deleted by myself (no delete functionality?)
Hi Sun,
it is obviously not my fault that you forgot to tell us what AX version are you using. My USB crystal ball is unfortunately broken again. :-)
The main problem with UtilElements is that there is no history. If you ask: "Is there any change between days D1 and D10?" and there were changes at D2, D6 and D11, the answer will be NO, because modified date D11 is not in the specified range.
