Dear Gents,
When linking a prepayment to a sales order and the sales order is partially invoiced, the settlement for the remainder of the prepayment appears to be no longer linked.
we have a huge prepayment every month and all related sales orders are partially invoiced on a monthly basis, so is there any way to link the prepayment to sales order for one time and post sales order partially without removing the link of prepayment so that the invoices are settled automatically.

prepayment links stays till invoice

in case of partial invoice , prepayment link is removed after posting the first partial invoice.
you are right in case of partial, one should create prepayment again

That's how the behavior is out of the box. I had done system modifications to link/mark the same prepayment against sales order one the invoices has been processed. One sales order Jan have multiple invoices, so after each invoice if there is anything pending on prepayment voucher just link it back to the order.
