Cant Open vendors v3 with excel addin

Hi. I am having the following issue on Dynamics

I can open Vendorsv2 and Vendorsv1 entity with excel add in but i cant open Vendorsv3

I tried to create a Role to enable CRUD permissions for vendors V3 but i cant find Vendors V3 entity on Security configuration.

Any ideas?

Hi Fernando,

When an entity has the same root datasource (table) as a form, it will be added as an option in the Open in Excel section of the Open in Microsoft Office menu.Otherwise it need Customized.

Maybe a silly question, but are you sure that you have Vendors V3 entity in your version of F&O?

Hi Fernando,

It's showing for me. Also, by the looks of the screenshot you provided, it seems like you have an old version of D365, it seems like you don't have the Data Entity available in your environment.

Just to validate this, can you go to Data Management and check if you have that Data Entity in the Entities list? Also, append the following to your environment's base url: /data/VendorsV3

It should look as follows: yourCompanyEnvironment.cloudax.dynamics.com/.../VendorsV3

If it shows data, then the Data Entity is there. If it shows a "resource not found" message, then you don't have it in the system, and will need an upgrade.

Then I'd suggest creating the privileges for the Data Entity yourself, since they don't seem to be in the AOT. You can do that by navigating to Security Configuration then switching to Privileges tab > Create New and then Add reference. Search for RetailVendVendorV3Entity, and set all permisions to Grant, confirm, and then add that privilege to a Role.

After that, Publish all the security objects you created and modified.

You can also ask a developer to create the security objects for that Data Entity in an extension model so you don't have to do it manually.
