Strange behaviour of a page of type "CardPart"

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hello guys,

I noticed a strange behavior on one of my pages today:

The page I'm talking about is of type CardPart and this  is embedded in a page of type Card.

If I now reduce a column in the card of type CardPart, close the whole page and open it again.

Then the page of type CardPart is suddenly much narrower.

The total width of the page should not change at all.

Have you ever seen something similar? Do you have an idea how I could solve this?

Thank your ;)

There might be chances that platform is changed and cope with being more space savvy.

Moving to web client will be very different from a technical perspective.

And why would the way you suggest help the page stop shrinking automatically?

    You might try the following:

    a. Update to latest platform for NAV 2018

    b. Test the same page with version 14.x latest Cumulative Update

    c. Move your client type from windows client to web client

I don't think it would help if I put pictures of the behavior here. Because as I said, if I shrink a column and close the page, open the page again, the whole page is much narrower. That is why I could only embed an image first from a large page and then from a small page. My only concern is that this resizing happens automatically, even though I only resized one column and not the page itself....

    But here is an image:

My described problem is about the right page. At first it is normal width, but if I then reduce the width of one of the columns, the total width also changes the next time I open the page.

You can see this in the "Title" column (fourth column) first it is very wide, then I make it narrower, open the page again and then the whole page has become narrower.

I know that the total page does not correspond to a standard page in NAV, maybe that is why the strange behavior occurs.

Hard to say without a print screen of what is displayed. Best suggestion is to delete all UI personalizations and see if this resolved. It would also be great to update to the latest platform version of NAV 2018. That might help as well.
