Hello,

I know about and tried Dynamics 365 Sales integration with Teams Calls + Conversation Intelligence. It is really cool tool for sales.

But I have a few questions:

Is it possible to sync calls made from Teams App (not Dynamics 365 Teams dialer) and get their transcriptions + call summary?
Is it possible to do the same for Teams Meetings? I mean start meeting and be on it from Dynamics 365 interface, get meeting summary and transcription, etc.?

Syncing Calls Made from the Teams App (Not the Dynamics 365 Dialer)

Currently, only calls made from the Dynamics 365 Sales dialer in Teams are automatically recorded, transcribed, and analyzed with Conversation Intelligence. However, for calls made directly from the Teams app, here are your options:

Automatic Capture with Microsoft Graph API (Advanced Setup)

You can use Microsoft Graph API to capture and sync Teams call recordings and transcriptions into Dynamics 365.

Requires custom development using Power Automate or an Azure Function.

Manual Logging via Teams Integration

If you make a call in Teams (not via the D365 dialer), you can still manually log the call in Dynamics 365.

You can do this via the Teams Sales app sidebar or Log Call feature in Dynamics 365.

Power Automate Workflow (Semi-Automatic)

A Power Automate flow can capture call details from Teams and create a corresponding activity in Dynamics 365.

However, transcriptions won’t sync automatically without additional custom development.

2. Syncing Teams Meetings (Transcriptions, Summaries, and Notes) into Dynamics 365

Microsoft recently enhanced Teams Meetings integration with Dynamics 365, but there are some limitations.

Teams Meetings Can Be Started from Dynamics 365

You can schedule and start Teams meetings directly from Dynamics 365 Sales (within an Opportunity, Lead, or Contact).

Meeting Transcriptions & AI Summaries Are Possible

If Conversation Intelligence is enabled, transcriptions and AI-generated summaries can be automatically attached to the meeting record in Dynamics 365.

This works best when the meeting is scheduled via Dynamics 365.

Microsoft Copilot for Teams + Dynamics 365

If you have Microsoft Copilot for Sales, AI-generated meeting summaries and insights can be automatically saved to Dynamics 365 after a Teams meeting.

Meetings Started Directly in Teams (Outside Dynamics 365) Won’t Auto-Sync

If you start a random Teams meeting (not linked to a Dynamics 365 record), it won’t automatically sync with Dynamics 365 unless manually logged or captured via a custom Power Automate flow.

If you’re looking for full automation, the best option is to use Microsoft Copilot for Sales with Conversation Intelligence, as it enables automatic syncing of both calls and meetings with summaries.

For custom integrations, Microsoft Graph API + Power Automate can be used to capture calls/meetings made outside Dynamics 365 and log them into the system.
