Posting this nuance out there for anyone else having a similar issue. My problem was that when I upgraded one of my machines to Windows 10, the macros recorded in Dynamics GP started failing with a strange error. <Cannot Open Log File (Line #0)> Not all of the macros would fail. On top of that, sometimes the macro would run once, then fail thereafter. I am running Dynamics GP 2015.
The problem was that the macro file was creating a local log file on the c: drive. I believe this creation of the local log file was seen by windows/windows defender as being malicious and consequently shut it down.
Hope this helps someone else out there! Stumped me for a very long time....

I'm having this problem at a client. I've granted permissions to the users to the Dynamics install folder, but I'm still getting the error. Where can you change the location of the macro log file?
