Custom Field to add in Line Items

how to to add custom field(column) to sales doc lines? We've been wanting to add another column for Shipping Cost, we tried the charge Item, but the shipping amount was equally distributed and we can't change it. So we think having a custom field would solve this.

Hi

Just as a suggestion. Can you use G/L in SO and add the shipping charge? Like create one line as G/L in SO, select needed G/L (such as outbound shipping) , QTY 1, then enter the shipping charge? When you ship that line it will add to invoice and selected G/L but will not distribute charge between items.

It's really not going to work to have dollars in a column on the sales lines. You would have to program how these amounts would post, how they affect the total AR, etc.

Item charge distributes to the individual lines but even then it does the dollar distribution upon posting at the value entry level not to the sales lines.

Can I ask what you are trying to accomplish?

Hi, As Kim said, this is not something that can be done simply by adding a column.

But if you want to add columns, you can refer to the following example.
