Data Deletion - Compliance

Hi All,

We are currently looking at deletion concepts to ensure we are operating in a compliant matter.

One of the important concepts is setting a deletion concept, which for accounting is that the data needs to be retained for 10 years.

One of the major issues we are facing is deleting data from Dynamics. after the 10 year period has passed, can they be deleted?

Is there any possibility of deleting data from the system such as Vendors, General Ledger Transactions, Employee ID's etc.

    There is currently no solution for this requirement in D365FO.

    In AX2012 there was Intelligent Data Management Framework (IDMF) which you could use to purge old transactions and replace them with summary records.

    Hi Hind,

    Dynamics 365 for FInance and Operations was launched in 2016. Do you already have 10 years history in this environment? Microsoft has not migrated the features related to IDMF, as mentioned by Nikolaos, yet.

    Hi Hind,

    FYI: The documentation mentions that is has not been moved yet. docs.microsoft.com/.../ax-2012-features-not-implemented-but-not-deprecated

    If you want to get "notified", you can look out for the new release plans. Not sure if it will be targeted for 2020 Wave 2 (features to be released between October and March); otherwise it will be mentioned in a future release plan.
