Can I create an automated notification when a record is shared on CRM? e.g If i am the owner of an opportunity and have shared the record with John, John should receive an automated notification stating that an opp is shared with me.
Please advice on the workflow for the above.

I dont think theres a 'no code' solution for what you want to do.
