Configuring NCR peripherals with Dynamics AX 2012 R2 Retail

Has anyone been able to successfully configure an NCR printer and scanner with Retail POS?  The scanner and printer work when testing with the NCR Retail Systems Manager but they don't work when logged into Retail POS.  I have tried setting the device name in the AX Retail hardware profile to both the Hardware Profile Name and the Programmatic ID from the NCR RSM but no luck.
