CRM 2013 and ADFS 3.0

Hey,

I want to publish the CRM to the internet. We use a Windows Server 2012 R2 ADFS 3.0 server and a Windows Server 2012 R2 web application server.

But CRM gives me all time the error:

The federation metadata URL 'logon.mydomain.de/.../IdpInitiatedSignon.aspx& is not available.

In the browser I can access the URL without any problems. What can I do to solve the problem?

We use this setup for sharepoint.

Thanks for your help

Stefan

    Hi Stefan,

could you please give a little more information? Did you configure CBA? Or also IFD ?

    Does it fail during configuration?

That way we can pinpoint your problem better.

    Thanks for the info!

    Hey Remon,

The problem comes up when I try to set up CBA.

It fail by the testing (System Check by the CBA wizard).

    Hi Stefan,

This is incorrect, you should use the metadata URL of your ADFS server:

    https:// logon.mydomain.de/ federationmetadata/ 2007-06/ federationmetadata.xml

    Hello Stefan,

don't know where you got that info? But the URL you're trying is the manual method of testing if ADFS is working, this is not the metadata url.

Please use my noted URL, and have a look here for further info:

    www.microsoft.com/.../details.aspx

    good luck!

    You are right,

But with Windows Server 2012 R2 comes ADFS 3.0 and the URL .../federationmetadata/2007-06/federationmetadata.xml not exist in ADFS 3. MS has change the URL from ADFS 2 to ADFS 3.

In ADFS 3 you dont need to install IIS.

There a lot of changes between ADFS 2 and 3.

The document is not for Windows Server 2012 R2.

    Hi Stefan,

this document IS for Windows Server 2012 R2, and also for ADFS 2.2 !

(Keep in mind that people mix up ADFS naming, ADFS 2.2 = ADFS 3.0 = ADFS 2012R2 )

Please read carefully, it really applies for your situation.

And yes, IIS is not installed, but still a federationmetadata is required.

    Regards,
