Comparing Unit price for EDI orders

Posted on by 43
Hi everyone,

I would like to hear the experience of comparing unit price coming from EDI orders and unit price registered in Trade agreement.
For example, if the orders are coming from EDI, it must have same price that is registered in Trade agreement.
Sometimes, there is no unit price in EDI orders and sometimes wrong unit price. In that case, there must be some kind of errors saying the price doesn't match.

I know this involves customization but would like to hear from someone who did customizations for this kind of business requirement.
Thank you

Comparing Unit price for EDI orders
Hi Pradeep – we’ve done a customization for this requirement with some of our customers before. Here is a high-level overview of what we did.
    • Add new field “EDI unit price”  to sales order line
    • Add new field (yes/no toggle) “EDI price mismatch” to sales order line
    • Upon EDI order creation, populate price from EDI file into “EDI unit price” field (NOT the standard Unit price field)
    • Upon order creation, run logic to toggle “EDI price mismatch” flag to yes/no based on data imported

    Benefits of this approach
    • Integrity of trade agreements are maintained
    • Visibility maintained for price sent through EDI from customer
    • Ease of use for sales teammates to quickly filter for EDI orders where price sent doesn’t match trade agreement setup

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
