Partership License and CRM environment

Hello!

I've got a question about our Microsoft Partnership Licenses and our CRM environment. Right now I got a message from Microsoft about an old Partnership License that I need to extend the license otherwise the account will be disabled "Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online Professional internal use rights". We already got a new license from Microsoft for Dynamics 365 and all the users use our CRM environment true the new license "Dynamics 365 Plan 1 Enterprise Edition".

The only thing I'm worried about is that we created our CRM environment with the old CRM license and I read in the e-mail that Microsoft will disable the account. Can we still use the CRM environment with the new license? With other words, will our CRM environment still be available when the old account will be disabled?

Thank you for the help!

    Hi,

From my point of view I would raise a support ticket and ask Microsoft to migrate your old license type to the new one in order to not loose all your inestimable work.

For safety do an export of all your cutomizations on a daily basis. Thus you will have at least a backup of your customizations.

    Hi KoenG,

i think you only need to go to Office 365 admin page and substitute current licenses with newer licenses.

    Please let us know.

    Hi Koen,

    The answer is yes.

This is purely a licensing issue and not an environment issue. We went through this issue last year, when we moved to Dynamics 365 licensing. The environment stayed in tact, all the users where migrated from Dynamic CRM Online license to Dynamics 365 license, and the old license eventually expired.

Regardless of the issue, we did open a Support ticket with Microsoft, which was transferred to some sort of transition team, to make sure that our licensing was moved properly.

I would open a support ticket with MS Dynamics Online, and make sure the transfer has been applied correctly, all users are under the new licenses, and that you do not have any issues with the transfer.

    Hope this helps.
