Master planning: Need help with Forecast Reduction

(2) ShareShare

My demand forecast isn't being reduced by sales orders.  In Master planning > Setup > Plans > Master plans, in the Method used to reduce forecast requirements field, I have selected Transactions - dynamic period.  The forecast requirements should be reduced by the actual order transactions that occur during the dynamic period, but the demand forecast does not reduce at all.  Is there something else I'm missing?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi ClintInOttawa

What is the dates and quantities of the forecast entries that make up the 1,000, 700 & 500? What are the ship dates and quantities of the Sales order lines that make up the 300 and 200?

dates and coverage plays important role

if you forecast date is already passed it still shows based on when is MRP run

should try setting up with a new item forecast for a new item for May 2020 and get an order in 1st week of may and suggest

if it does not consume then share the screens of forecast

    inventory transactions

What I sent isn't actual data - just a representation of what is happening.  Trying to show that forecast never consumes sales orders - no matter the dates or quantities.  I think I have missed a setting somewhere.

In our test instance, we have put numerous orders in the future - the forecast never gets consumed by sales orders - ever - no matter where or how much.  I think I have missed a setting somewhere.

    Hi,

Make sure you have set up positive days, otherwise the demand can not be fulfilled with the orders.
