Adxstudio Portal Cache Invalidation / Reset v8

(0) ShareShare

Posted on by

Hi,

I have been searching high and low and can't find how to refresh the Adxstudio portal cache? I tried the old bookmarklet JavaScript but that does not appear to work.

I am making edits to the portal via CRM and need to see the changes in the portal. When I make a change to a portal record in CRM, I am not seeing those changes in the portal.

I am using the latest portal and CRM Online. The portal is MS hosted via Azure.

Mike

    Mike,

What specific version of portals are you using? Go to yourportalurl.com/.../about , get that information then check your portal solutions.

We recently provided an update via portals v8.1.0.375, your portal code should already reflect this, the solutions will need to be updated.

Go to the CRM Admin Center > Select the instance for which your portal is associated > Click Solutions > You should see a solution that needs upgrading. You will need o365 Global Admin rights to do this.

Also, as an alternative way to Invalidate the portal's cache you can turn the portal's Web App off and on again. This will recycle the Web App and invalidate the cache.

CRM Admin Center > Applications > Select your portal add-on from the list > click "Manage" > within this form you will see the option to "Change Portal State" > select "Off" > Click Update > Select "On" > Update

Your portal website will be down for less than 2 minutes in my experience, but the cache will surely be invalidated.

If you are using portals v8.1.0.375/ the solutions are current, and the above does not work, I suggest you open a support case to allow us to dig deeper. Hope this helps!

    Thanks,

    Patrick

    Thanks Patrick,

    I am using 8.1.0.375

In my case, turning on/off the portal is taking more like 5+ minutes.

The portal web page to page navigation is taking 1-2 minutes, sometimes more, to refresh. Extremely painful at the moment. I have submitted a ticket for the response times.

I am also seeing similar response times in my portal (at latest release). The time to refresh the cache is awful compared to the old way of using JS. The productivity for development is going to be terrible due to the long times between making changes and then having to wait for the portal to come back up. I sure hope Microsoft comes up with a faster way to clear the cache so you can actually get some work done.

    Hi Guys,

any good news about it? I'm using the latest version of the microsoftcrmportals it's a very bad experience. there is no way to simply "publish" a change and everything is very very slow. It's not usable as CMS.

Have you been able to figure out a way to see changes without need to recycle apppool ?

MSFT did resolve the ticket ?

    Thanks in advance

Seconding the request for any update on this.  I am working on a client's portal, and don't have the global admin access necessary to restart the web app.  I am seeing long delays before the cache is refreshed, and it is making the whole experience extraordinarily painful.

This issue is resolved for us now - apparently there was something going on with the Azure link between CRM and the portal.  A support ticket to Microsoft was able to get it resolved for us.

Thanks for sharing Mike, and apologies for the slow response. Do you mind sharing the SR number that was assigned to your case? I'd like to take a look and provide context for all if possible.
